First Letters Course

Completed in Vancouver January 26 – Jun 1, 2025!

First Letters Course:  6 General Sessions + 5 Small Group Discussions

For married couples with children aged 4-7 yrs (or soon to be).

Your children are developing their personality and reaching the age of reason. This stage requires much individualized attention. This course helps parents establish family values and nurture their children’s growth. Using the case study methodology, parents learn from real-life situations, as moderators guide the analysis and facilitate dynamic group discussions.

First Letters is developed by professionals at IFFD, International Federation for Family Development, (www.iffd.org) that uses the Harvard case study method to explore parenting issues. It is meant to give confidence and practical assistance to parents, who are the first educators of their children.

This course is comprised of the following sessions:

  1. Family Temperament
  2. The Richness of Family Life
  3. Communication in Marriage
  4. Loving Discipline
  5. Leisure and Play
  6. Love and Life

Small Group Discussions (5 sessions):

There are also small group meetings held in private homes prior to the General Sessions with the exception of the first general session. The meetings dates will be determined by hosting team lead couples and you will be notified of the dates after the first General Session. The small group meeting will take about 1 hour or less.

Course Feedback

The sessions didn't tell us "what to do" but gave good tools to use ourselves.
